Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

The Star Pharmacy Group (SPG) has an opportunity for an experienced General Manager People and Culture to lead their People & Culture team, drive strategic HR and ensure the SPG team is “Happier and Healthier Every Day”.
This position will sit on the Star Pharmacy Group senior leadership team and will be supporting a bold growth strategy until 2030.
Reporting to the CEO, this position has 2 x People & Culture Business Partners, 1 x Recruitment Partner, a Payroll & HRIS Specialist and Workplace Chaplain.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leading all of the organisation’s People and Culture initiatives, this position will be responsible for leading the below:-

  • Engaged Culture: Drive organisational culture by actively participating in the Leadership Team, fostering cohesion, responsiveness, diversity, and engagement across all stores and the support office.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships within the Group, ensuring effective communication, coaching, clarity, and consistency of direction.
  • Workforce Planning: Collaborate with Division Heads to coordinate resource plans, contingency planning, and workforce planning to optimise productivity and comply with legal requirements. Provide support for senior or complex recruitment where required.
  • Talent Acquisition/Recruitment and Pipeline Strategy: Lead Employer Value Proposition (EVP) processes, develop innovative recruitment campaigns, and oversee talent acquisition, pipeline, and succession planning. Take a lead role in the Pharmacist Intern program.
  • Onboarding, Learning and Development: Promote ongoing learning, coordinate learning and development activities using online and live facilitation methods, and enhance outcomes and success of intern and mentoring programs.
  • HR/ER Advice, Support, and Investigations: Handle complex or strategic industrial matters, implement performance processes for key positions, provide HR/ER advice and support, and conduct investigations into employee grievances.
  • Change Management: Support key change initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders, develop internal communication messages, and identify and address industrial relations requirements.
  • Remuneration and Benefits: Oversee, review, and monitor the Company’s remuneration process including reward and recognition to ensure initiatives support attraction and retention of talent, team members feel valued and reflect the Company’s vision of Well-being.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate as a member of the Leadership Team to establish people strategies and solutions aligned to values, business strategic growth and innovation plans.
  • Workplace Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with WHS and Injury Management processes.
  • Administration/Compliance: Provide management reporting on key people measures. Ensure legislative compliance across HR Policies and Procedures, key employee documentation and conduct, and ensure processes are consistently audited and reviewed.
  • Represent the Company in people and culture through various industry forums both nationally and regionally, to build the brand as an ‘Employer of Choice’.
