GENERAL MANAGER – PET RESORT

Location/Onsite: Austin, TX | Onsite, Full-Time
Our client, a growing pet resort brand, is looking for a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead daily operations at their Austin, TX location. REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of general management experience handling things like billing, payroll, inventory, building maintenance, etc.
  • 1+ years of experience managing and directing a team
  • Experience working in pet/animal care, vet clinic, training, pet resort, or similar
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable being hands-on and leading by example
  • Passion for animals and customer service
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage resort teams through all aspects of daily operations
  • Motivate and develop staff through recognition, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Oversee procedures for both front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Ensure resort cleanliness, safety, and conduct standards are upheld
  • Handle maintenance needs and escalate when needed
  • Manage staffing levels, create schedules, and handle payroll and time clock systems
  • Hire and train kennel and front desk staff
  • Run monthly team meetings and guide ongoing employee development
  • Develop training guides and onboard new team members
  • Support resort social media efforts with a content calendar and collaborative posting
  • Have basic pet medical knowledge to handle minor issues or coordinate veterinary care
  • Manage budgets and inventory alongside the owner
