Compensation: Performance-based earnings: $250,000 - 400,000 + / year Job Description Summary: Philpott Toyota is seeking an experienced, high-impact General Manager to lead all dealership operations, drive profitability, and strengthen our performance culture. The General Manager serves as the strategic and operational leader for Sales, Service, Parts, and Finance, ensuring consistent execution, exceptional customer experience, and strong financial results. This role requires a proven dealership GM who can develop people, optimize processes, and maintain strong manufacturer and lender relationships. Duties and Responsibilities Lead all dealership operations with full P&L responsibility across Sales, Service, Parts, and F&I. Develop and execute annual business plans, objectives, and performance targets aligned with Sonic Automotive standards. Review departmental forecasts, financial statements, and operational metrics to drive profitability and continuous improvement. Ensure all departments operate collaboratively, efficiently, and in compliance with brand, manufacturer, and Sonic processes. Build high-performing teams through effective hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of all department leaders. Maintain strong manufacturer relationships, ensuring compliance, performance alignment, and timely reporting requirements. Oversee customer experience results and resolve escalated concerns to protect the dealership’s reputation and retention goals. Approve compensation plans, staffing strategies, and organizational structure for all departments. Implement effective merchandising, advertising, and digital retailing strategies to grow traffic and sales volume. Ensure timely submission of factory financial statements, reporting packages, and internal audits. Champion a culture of safety, accountability, ethical standards, and operational excellence across all departments. Lead recurring management meetings, set expectations, align teams, and ensure execution of dealership initiatives. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a General Manager in an automotive dealership. Demonstrated success managing P&L, leading multi-department operations, and developing high-performing teams. Strong financial acumen with ability to analyze and act on KPIs, forecasts, and factory reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Valid driver’s license with good driving record and ability to pass pre-employment screenings. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with Toyota or another high-volume franchise dealership. Additional Information Compensation (Draw / Commission): Performance-based earnings: $250,000 - 400,000 + / year Actual earnings depend on performance.
