Compensation: Performance-based earnings: $30,000 + / month Job Description Summary: Philpott Toyota is seeking a hands-on, sales-driven General Manager to lead day-to-day dealership performance with a strong focus on used vehicle operations, desking, inventory management, and sales execution. This role is ideal for a proven desk manager or General Sales Manager who thrives in the sales tower, understands used car strategy, and wants the opportunity to run the store with full leadership authority and accountability. Duties and Responsibilities Own daily sales operations with a strong presence on the desk, including deal structure, approvals, and closing support. Lead used vehicle strategy, including acquisition, pricing, inventory turn, aging, and gross optimization. Drive performance across New and Used Sales through hands-on leadership, coaching, and accountability. Partner closely with F&I leadership to ensure clean, profitable, and compliant deal flow. Analyze sales performance, inventory metrics, and market data to make real-time pricing and strategy decisions. Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing sales management and sales consultant team. Establish and execute sales processes that improve conversion, customer experience, and consistency. Collaborate with Service and Parts leadership to support recon flow, vehicle readiness, and retail velocity. Maintain strong relationships with manufacturer partners while executing brand-aligned sales objectives. Resolve escalated customer situations related to sales transactions and deal structure. Lead daily sales meetings, forecast reviews, and performance check-ins. Uphold Sonic Automotive standards for professionalism, compliance, and operational excellence. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in an automotive dealership. Proven success as a Desk Manager or General Sales Manager. Deep understanding of used vehicle operations, inventory management, and deal structuring. Strong track record of driving sales volume, gross profit, and team performance. Hands-on leadership style with comfort working directly in the sales tower. Ability to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and ability to pass pre-employment screenings. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with Toyota or another high-volume franchise dealership. Additional Information Compensation (Draw / Commission): Performance-based earnings: $30,000 + / month Actual earnings depend on performance.
