As a senior leader within HCF, you will shape the future of Australia’s largest not‑for‑profit health fund by driving the performance, sustainability, and strategic evolution of our hospital and medical provider network. This role suits an experienced executive with a strong background in hospital/medical contracting, private health sector dynamics, and high‑stakes commercial negotiation. Strategic Leadership Lead the design and execution of divisional and long‑term provider network strategies, aligned to HCF’s 2030 vision. Identify, champion, and deliver innovation in health purchasing to drive clinical value, affordability, and long‑term system sustainability. Partner closely with senior leaders across HCF to integrate purchasing, contracting, and strategic partnership approaches with the organisation’s broader commercial and member value objectives. Operational Excellence Lead complex, high‑value negotiations with major hospital groups, medical specialists, and service networks to secure competitive, sustainable commercial agreements. Oversee purchasing performance, including benefit outlay management, contract implementation, and provider performance reporting. Ensure strong governance across all agreements, with robust contract management, risk control, and regulatory compliance embedded into operations. Policy, Regulation & Industry Influence Assess the implications of government policy, regulatory reforms, and health system changes on HCF’s strategy and provider arrangements. Build influential relationships with government bodies, industry associations, and key external stakeholders to shape sector initiatives and advocate for members’ interests. People Leadership Lead and develop a high‑performing team with a focus on capability growth, engagement, accountability, and succession planning. Embed a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking, while empowering the team to deliver meaningful commercial and member outcomes. About You You are a respected senior healthcare leader with a track record of delivering commercial, operational, and strategic outcomes in complex clinical and private health funding environments. You will bring: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Strategy, Health Administration, or a relevant clinical field. Deep, contemporary understanding of the private healthcare sector, including hospital funding models, medical provider dynamics, and the PHI regulatory landscape. 10+ years’ senior or executive leadership experience in private health funding, hospital/care delivery, or health‑economics/strategy consulting. Proven success leading large‑scale transformation, from strategic design through to execution and measurable impact. Exceptional commercial acumen and negotiation capability, with demonstrated success in securing complex hospital and medical agreements. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with credibility to influence at C‑suite, board, and regulator levels. Demonstrated experience building and leading high‑performing teams and driving organisational change in dynamic environments.
