Job Summary: United Legwear is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and supervise our retail team in the 59th Street flagship concession. The General Manager will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining the high standards of the Ted Baker brand. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in retail management. Essential Functions (Including but not limited to): People • Display confident leadership in supervising, with an ability to inspire and empower team members to achieve excellence. • Ability to define and communicate clear strategic objectives. • Work with integrity and respect for others; create excellent team collaboration and ensure the team and location is presented to the highest standards in line with brand expectations. • Take ownership of your personal learning to enhance your development and the development of others. • Deliver all company trainings to ensure the team are up to date and knowledgeable. • Coaching, developing and appraising the Managers, using a flexible but consistent approach to differing people and situations, assisting Managers to do the same. • Identify, manage and document the underperformance of Managers, sharing these matters with the District Manager and HR Team. • Display high levels of personal motivation and ensure effective incentives are used to inspire and drive the team. • Maintain a high level of team understanding by working with the Managers to identify and resolve recruitment needs promoting effective use of succession planning and networking to develop dynamic teams with a mix of talent attributes. • Take an active interest in the on-boarding and development ensuring that all Company tools are being used effectively and talent is being nurtured for the ongoing development of the location and business in general. • Hold regular management meetings to review business and strategize. • Develop strategic partnerships and maintain productive relationships with host store partners. • Develop a management network within your locations to share knowledge and talent to deliver contributions from your locations. • Keep up to date with the Retail Sector constantly looking for new ways of working and future initiatives that are relatable to Ted. Product • Keep well informed on and ensure Managers drive the use of all available tools to support the product knowledge of the team. • Be up to date on product knowledge; Ensure regular collation and reporting of customer reactions, performance and opportunities to maximize sales and increase customer loyalty. • Oversee effective implementation of merchandising guidelines, replenishment procedures and housekeeping standards to ensure that Ted is always represented at the highest level. • Retain a comprehensive understanding of stock routines, product types, stock holding and stock management of all locations. Regularly liaise with relevant teams and partners to ensure the floors are driven commercially at all times. • Partner with District Managers and ULAC Merchandising Team to communicate store product needs, influencing action to enhance performance. Commercial • Feedback on team performance ensuring sales ability is maximized and that there is enthusiastic and consistent delivery of Ted’s trainings, particularly GOTFAT. • Hold a strong understanding of local and customer profiles and shopping behaviors to advise, coach and deliver an intuitive sales and customer environment. • Driving the location to achieve performance plans and KPI’s. • Be in control of set budgets and ensure Managers are effectively managing the controllable elements of the location’s profit and loss. • Initiate and support marketing opportunities within brand guidelines and drive the success of all brand promotions. • Accountable for the location’s B-connected performance, promoting the use of database building and clienteling results. • Have a comprehensive awareness of our competitors and local markets sharing any relevant findings with your District Manager and Retail Team. • Analyze and interpret commercial reports to convey a high level of understanding and identify opportunities to positively affect location performance. • A strong digital focus with the ability to embrace and drive new initiatives from concept to implementation, helping support new ways of selling and brand profile enhancements. Operations • Overall awareness, communication, and effective time management of all Company directives. • Strategically delegate tasks ensuring they are completed on time and in line with Company policy and procedures. • Accountable for Managers and team awareness and implementation of Company Health & Safety procedures. Use equipment properly and immediately report any potentially unsafe conditions. • Accountable for Managers and team awareness and implementation of all loss prevention measures and protect the assets of the Company by immediately reporting any misuse or theft of Company property to the Manager / District Manager. • Accountable for accurate cash handling and banking procedures highlighting and resolving discrepancies as a matter of priority as outlined by your host store. • Deliver all daily operations in line with Ted’s operating policies and procedures. Qualifications/Requirements: • Experience as a Store Manager or similar role in a retail environment, preferably in fashion. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to analyze sales data and develop effective strategies. • Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management and visual merchandising. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities Physical Demands and Working Conditions: The physical demands and working conditions outlined below are representative of those required for this role to effectively perform the essential job functions. Vision abilities for close and distance viewing related to electronic systems and/or physical products are also required.
