Reporting to the Director of Hotel Operations, this hands-on, full-time General Manager role offers the opportunity to lead two recently merged and highly regarded operations, Strahan Village and Gordon River Cruises, under a single, unified vision. You’ll be a key driver of operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and commercial performance, balancing compassionate leadership with sound business decision-making. As an active and respected member of Strahan’s tight-knit community, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping culture, building strong local connections, and delivering consistent, high-quality experiences across accommodation, dining, and cruising. What you’ll do: Lead, coach and mentor the leadership team at Strahan Village to deliver consistent operational excellence. Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, forecasting and cost control. Oversee business planning and budget development for the property. Ensure compliance with WHS, legislative and company requirements. Build strong relationships with the local community and stakeholders. Provide strategic and executive oversight of Gordon River Cruises, partnering with specialist marine leadership to support safe, compliant operations and align guest experience and service standards across both land and marine tourism operations. Regular intrastate travel required to support both sites. What you’ll bring: Senior leadership experience in hospitality or tourism. Strong commercial acumen. Proven people leadership capability with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and a commitment to quality. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders. A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A genuine passion for delivering memorable guest experiences Highly desirable: Experience working with marine or maritime tourism operations.
