GENERAL MANAGER – TITAN ENVIRONMENTAL

Titan Environmental boasts several services which, through the implementation of key features, allows us to provide services in several areas of expertise. These features and services include:

  • Thoroughly trained and fully insured asbestos remediation technicians
  • Complete worksite preparation, cleaning, and safe disposal of asbestos
  • Equipped to handle Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3 asbestos removal projects
  • Removal of lead, mold, mercury, PCBs, Ozone depleting substances
  • Monitoring of air quality

1) Position Title & Duties
The General Manager overseas the day-to-day operations of Titan Environmental. As a General Manager (Titan Environmental Inc.) the canadidate must possess Possess and maintain Type 3 asbestos certification (MTCU 253W and 253S). The General Manager is required to perform the following duties and undertake the following responsibilities in a professional manner:
(a) Support the Mission, Vision, Values and Goals of the organization
(b) Develop business plans and strategies to grow and expand the business
(c) Function as the main generator of revenue for the company
(d) Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Company, i.e., all asbestos, hazardous materials and demolition related services provided by the Company
(e) Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and training site supervisor and any key staff
(f) Perform project management oversight for asbestos abatement projects. Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors
(g) Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators, and air quality monitors, and compose reports with reporting software
(h) Attends job sites to assess damage and provide data to create estimates. Create estimated based on job tender documents
(i) Adhere to strict safety, QA/QC standards and maintaining quality and safety standards on all projects
(j) Provide technical explanations and feedback to clients and consultants
(k) Strengthen relationships with all existing and potential customers through business development and accounts management activities
(l) Maintain employee confidentiality and performance management by coaching leading, training, mentoring, and motivating employees
(m) Verify that all company documents are completed accurately; maintaining employee records and compliance; ensuring compliance of all employees and subcontractors with local laws and company policy at head office and job sites
(n) Coordinate all work duties in the field, job starts and schedules with all personnel including subcontractors
(o) Provide constructive feedback and direction to complete projects on time and on budget
(p) Ensure applicable permits are in place, and meet with inspectors as required
(q) Coordinate and possibly attend after-hours emergency jobs to ensure services are completed as required
(r) Review and approve project-based invoices for payment
(s) Ensure a certificate of completion is obtained on all projects and submitted / uploaded with invoicing
(t) Submit to the Finance & Accounting department documentation regarding interim and end of project billing
(u) Crafting and putting into place safety principles and practices; policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
(v) Comply with all legislative requirements
(w) Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person, i.e., ownership/upper management
(x) Attend training courses and seminars as to ensure compliance with legislative and health and safety requirement associated with the industry, and to retain accurate knowledge of regulatory changes
(y) Physical Demands. There may be lifting from 41 lbs+, unassisted. Access and mobility in tight spaces. Half and full-face mask as needed. Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically. Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling

2) Person Specification:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in construction projects and abatement/hazardous materials handling
  • Understands building codes, safety guidelines and regulations for construction projects
  • Ability to supervise trades and construction crews
  • Can resolve safety and other worksite concerns and issues with staff and trades
  • Understands construction equipment, operations, and maintenance

· Possess and maintain Type 3 asbestos certification (MTCU 253W and 253S) as well as ensuring all workers posses same
