Mystery Lake Hotel is a 130-room facility located in the heart of Thompson,
Manitoba. Proudly situated on the reserve land of the Nisichawayasihk Cree
Nation, we offer warm hospitality, a VLT Bar, and a strong commitment to
community values. Conveniently located at 58 Cree Road, we serve as a
welcoming destination for both visitors and locals.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a results-driven and people-oriented General Manager to lead
our team. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of all hotel operations,
ensure financial success, and deliver exceptional guest experiences—all while
helping to build a strong and inclusive workplace.
Key Responsibilities
 Lead daily hotel operations including Front Desk, Housekeeping,
Maintenance, Bar & VLT services, and tenant management
 Provide strategic direction to achieve financial and service excellence
 Recruit, train, and mentor staff to build a motivated, high-performing team
 Uphold hotel brand standards and ensure guest satisfaction
 Drive revenue growth through smart sales and marketing initiatives
 Manage budgeting, cost controls, and financial reporting
 Maintain a safe, secure, and inclusive workplace environment
 Liaise with the parent company (NHDC) to ensure alignment with corporate
goals
 Champion environmentally sustainable practices within the hotel
 Perform additional tasks assigned
What We’re Looking For
 5+ years in hotel operations, including at least 3 years as a General
Manager
 Post-secondary diploma in hospitality or equivalent experience
 Experience with midscale or select-service brands; IHG experience is
strongly preferred
 Strong understanding of financial management, guest services, and
operational leadership
 Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
 Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
 Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
