General Manager | voco Muar, Malaysia A rare opportunity to lead the first internationally branded hotel in Muar and shape a new market. Located in KCC City Business Park, this upcoming voco Muar, scheduled to open in Q4 2026, will introduce a new hospitality offering to the city. Featuring 107 guestrooms, three distinctive dining venues, leisure facilities, and dedicated meeting space, the hotel is well positioned to capture growing corporate demand, alongside increasing domestic leisure travel. As the first international hotel in Muar, this is a true market-entry opportunity — offering the chance to build the hotel from the ground up, establish a high-performing team, and position the property as the leading internationally branded choice in the market. We’re looking for a commercially sharp General Manager who thrives in pre-opening environments and is excited by the opportunity to create something from day one. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The role • Lead the pre-opening and hotel launch, from setup through to stabilised operations • Take full ownership of the hotel’s commercial performance and P&L outcomes • Establish strong market positioning and build demand across corporate and leisure segments • Partner with ownership to deliver sustainable performance and asset value growth • Build, inspire, and lead a high-performing team and culture, with strong understanding of the Malaysian market and local stakeholder landscape -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What we need from you • Senior hotel leadership experience with a strong commercial and strategic mindset • Track record of driving results and improving hotel performance • Experience in pre-opening, repositioning, or fast-growth environments is a plus • Confident stakeholder management with owners and local partners • Familiarity with Malaysia or similar markets is advantageous • Open to high-potential first-time General Managers -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What we offer A leadership role with IHG Hotels & Resorts, competitive remuneration, and the opportunity to lead a first-of-its-kind hotel in a growing market.
