Summary Plans and coordinates control within the facility maintenance operations and provides for an uninterrupted flow of utilities based upon existing design criteria. Performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshoots the electro/mechanical systems utilizing specialized test equipment and hand/power tools. Job Duties Completes various general and specialized trade skills such as electrical, carpentry, painting, concrete, plumbing, welding, drywall installing, or repairs of various ceiling systems. Performs improvements to equipment, walls, doors, ceilings, hardware, and other services essential for the medical center. Constructs, repairs, and maintains wooden structures such as furniture, equipment, partitions, and other parts of the hospital buildings using hand and power tools. Performs repairs and adds lubrication and adjustments on all hospital equipment to ensure a comfortable and safe environment. Assumes responsibility for any maintenance on laundry equipment, portable phones, pagers, beds, wheelchairs, and surgical equipment. Develops supply estimates for various projects, gathers technical data, evaluates/formulates safety procedures, and creates material and fiscal requirements for assigned projects. Documents repairs and reports all faulty operating equipment and systems. Answers monitor alarms under emergency conditions and takes appropriate steps to vent boilers or activates secondary systems. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED 2 years Progressive experience in commercial, industrial or hospital maintenance and 1 year Experience with all hand and power tools and 1 year Experience working in healthcare or hospital setting Ability to work in tight space environments. Ability to use standard hand tools. Ability to adhere to safety procedures and protocols. Ability to secure top secret clearance. Knowledge of universal waste accidental release procedures. Knowledge of used oil/used hydraulic fluid accidental release procedures and collection/clean up. DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania Physical Demands Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
