We are seeking a qualified and compassionate General Practitioner (GP) to join our dedicated team. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM (or actively working towards Fellowship)
  • Proven clinical expertise in general practice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities

As a General Practitioner (GP) at Smith Street Medical Centre, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting Patient Examinations: Assessing patients through detailed examinations and interviews to diagnose the nature of their illnesses or disorders. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Ordering and Interpreting Diagnostic Tests: Requesting and interpreting laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures to assist in accurate diagnoses.
  • Providing Comprehensive Patient Care: Offering overall care to patients by prescribing and administering appropriate treatments, medications, and remedial measures, and monitoring their progress and response to treatment.
  • Patient Education: Advising patients on diet, exercise, and lifestyle habits to prevent and manage health conditions effectively.
  • Referrals and Collaboration: Referring patients to specialist medical practitioners when necessary and exchanging medical information to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Legal and Administrative Duties: Reporting births, deaths, and notifiable diseases to the relevant government authorities. Arranging patient admissions to hospitals as required.
  • Preventative and Ongoing Care: Diagnosing, treating, and preventing a wide range of human physical and mental disorders and injuries. Ensuring that all medical interventions comply with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
