COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Glanway diverts household residual waste in the South & East of Ireland away from landfill to our Processing Facility in Belview Port, Waterford, Ireland. Where the waste is processed to remove any recyclables for recycling, organics for composting and the remaining non-recyclable waste is processed into refuse derived fuel (RDF). Glanway then exports this RDF to Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facilities across Europe where it is used for the production of heat and electricity.

As a General Operative you may be required to work as a Wheeled Loader Driver and/or Telehandler Driver and on General Housekeeping & Operative tasks in the Glanway Facility. You will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks:

  • Operate Glanway’s Loaders & Telehandlers to feed the Waste Processing Line and take off the materials coming off the line in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Fill out GA2 Forms for your assigned machine before every shift.
  • Operate Glanway’s processing line in accordance with all safety procedures and support the safe and efficient operation of the processing line at all times.
  • Follow general and specific operating procedures at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
  • Perform the roles and tasks as instructed by Glanway Management or Glanway Supervisors/Officers
  • Ensure timely attendance to Glanway Facility in line with Weekly Timetable and perform roles assigned in the Weekly Timetable.
  • Actively contribute to the daily cleaning and maintenance of all Glanway Plant, Machinery and Equipment
  • Follow all procedures to comply with Site policies, licence conditions and company procedures.
  • Help ensure the Facility is kept in a safe, clean and hygienic manner.
  • Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed in line with Company procedures and legislation
  • Skills, Abilities and Knowledge Required
  • A polite manner and the ability to work within a team.
  • General Operatives are required to be in a physical condition to have the ability to work in an active role.
  • Ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained.
  • To work alongside outlined Standard Operational Procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • To report equipment faults and defects of any nature to the site management.
  • Complying with Health and Safety policies.
  • Assist other team members when needed.

  • Represent the Company in all interactions with suppliers, customers, contractors and visitors to the Glanway Facility in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Follow and observe all safe systems of work (induction and training will be provided)
  • Operate and be mindful of health and safety and good housekeeping (cleanliness and neatness).
  • Take pride in your work and the equipment which you operate.
  • Work well in a busy environment and work well as part of a team.
  • To work in all areas of the facility.
