Description

We are seeking a General Operative & Trainee Press Brake, Guillotine and Water Jet Operator to join our manufacturing team.
This role is made up of two parts and will suit someone with general operative, maintenance or handyman experience who wishes to learn new skills in machine operation and basic metal fabrication.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a workshop environment and some general operative, cleaning or facilities maintenance experience would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work pro-actively, independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Some mechanical knowledge and a general interest in fabrication and machine operation.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools.
  • A full, clean driving licence would be beneficial but not essential.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: £12.21-£14.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 39 per week

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working to a daily cleaning schedule covering our workshops, yard and welfare areas.
  • Keeping workshops, yard and welfare areas tidy, emptying bins and managing waste disposal.
  • Carrying out light repairs and maintenance within individual capabilities to premises.
  • Reporting any maintenance issues or hazards that require management or specialist attention.
  • Carrying out and recording basic machine maintenance tasks.
  • Following health & safety requirements at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learning how to accurately interpret fabrication drawings to determine the appropriate set-up for the press brake and water jet machines.
  • Learning how to set up and operate machines and carry out work in accordance with standard operating procedures and company health and safety requirements.
  • Learning appropriate use of tools and equipment to finish pieces.
  • Inspecting finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Learning how to perform routine maintenance on machines.
  • Working collaboratively with other team members to meet production goals.
  • Other general fabrication tasks where required as training progresses.
