About the role We are looking to welcome Event and Venue Operations Team Members to join our team on a casual basis. In a fast-paced, customer service-driven environment you will ensure all allocated tasks are completed on time and in a safe manner. Tasks include stage set ups; crash barrier builds; venue conversions from different sport, concert and show modes; setting out patron queuing barriers; corporate/gala dinner set ups and other challenging and often labour-intensive tasks. If you are looking for a job with variety then look no further! Our thriving precinct operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Work in our Event and Venue Operations team often takes place during early mornings, late or over-night and on weekends. To be successful in this role, your availability should be aligned to these times and include being available during the peak event times between August and March each year, where you will be rostered onto shifts according to our event calendar at any one of our venues. If you are a student looking for entry into the events industry or have experience in venue operations or roadie/loader activities, then this is the job for you! What you will need to be successful in the role Physical fitness and strength conditioned to handle labour-intensive tasks Experience in using tools Attention and care to detail whilst consistently meeting tight deadlines Problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to work proactively both individually and as part of a team at a fast pace – Must be driven by getting stuff done! Demonstrated understanding of health and safety principles and on the job demonstration of safe work practices especially in Safe Manual Handling Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills especially when dealing with clients and fellow team members Demonstrated and proven experience in Event &/or Venue Operations ‘hands on’ roles i.e. stagehand, rigger, AV tech, event warehousing, etc. Punctual and reliable Must hold a valid Working with Children Check and White Card, or be willing and able to obtain them Desirable but not essential A forklift license Knowledge, experience or qualifications in staging, audio visual, production or rigging Truck, EWP, and current driver’s license Working Safely at Heights qualification First Aid/CPR Certificate Our recruitment process Assessment Centre / Group Interview References and Background Checks Selection and Offer To be eligible for consideration you must be able to attend our in-person assessment centre on Tuesday, 19th May from 5.30pm to approximately 7.30/8pm.
