Starting Pay up to $19.70* per hour. *Pay varies depending on position and grade level.
This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
All positions may involve tasks such as cutting clips from finished products, operating a Multivac machine, filling and stacking boxes of finished products. Additionally, this role includes moving products as needed and removing racks. The individual in this position will be responsible for labeling and dating boxes, managing packaging machines, and ensuring materials are transported to and from the production line for product manufacturing and packing. Additionally, this person will be responsible for setting up, running, and cleaning equipment.

Knowledge & Responsibilities:

  • Set up, tear down and operate the fermented sausage packaging machines.
  • Operate labelers, tapers and all other support equipment.
  • Move racked product as needed and remove racks.
  • Pack accurately dated product into correctly labeled and dated boxes.
  • Check, open and repackage leakers.
  • Moves 45-pound cases from conveyor to pallet.
  • Observe all safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the department.
  • Will be required to make up gift boxes, display boxes, and repack products as necessary.
  • May use SAP if transferred /rotated.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Set up and run all equipment, films and labels.
  • Move up to 700# racks as needed.
  • Clean machines at the end of shift.
  • Learn and follow all safety procedures.
  • Ability to work weekends
  • Ability to work with machinery with moving parts.
  • Ability to operate a powered hand mule.

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to stand/walk/climb/bend for long periods of time, required.
  • Ability to flex/grip wrist/hands in high frequency, consistently, required
  • Ability to lift/lower/carry on back and legs, in high frequency, consistently, required
  • Ability to reach high and low levels, required
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up 45 pounds continually, required
  • Ability to work in wet and cold temperatures below 45 degrees.

Applicants will be considered for Labor level openings. Leveling (pay) is determined based on availability of relevant labor level job. Applicants may choose from any of the roles listed below based on availability.
General Labor positions include Batch Kitchen, Deli, Packer, QX, Semi- Dry, Skinless and Smoked Meats.
