Description Under supervision of the Retail Manager, Assistant Retail Manager, Supervisor and Director of Operations the Gift Shop Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, efficiently processing sales transactions, handling cash and credit card payments accurately, and maintaining a welcoming and organized store environment. This role ensures a positive shopping experience for all customers while supporting the overall success of the gift shop. Operations: Provide friendly and efficient customer service in the retail shop, assist with product inquiries, and accurately process purchases at the register. Ensure the gift shop and work areas are kept clean, well-organized, and visually appealing to enhance the customer shopping experience. Responsible for all cash and credit card transactions. Assist with stocking, organizing, and pricing merchandise to ensure shelves are well-maintained and products are displayed effectively. Be familiar with opening and closing procedures and provide support as needed or when scheduled. Accurately count and reconcile opening and closing cash balances with daily sales totals. Required to self-motivate to accomplish daily functions without prompting. Attends staff meetings to ensure communication among Managers and co-workers regarding operations and activities. Communicates inventory of levels and operational needs to management. Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient customer service in the retail shop, assist with product inquiries, and accurately process purchases at the register. Responsible for interacting directly with guests, including promptly and appropriately handling guest inquiries and concerns. Team Support: Provide coverage for colleagues during lunches and breaks as needed to ensure smooth operations. Responsible for helping train and coach the retail shop personnel with sales techniques and develop teamwork when instructed to. Support co-workers in accordance with policy and procedures related to the operations of stations. Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment. Compliance & Policies: Performs other duties as required. Responsible for performing opening and closing tasks. Must wear complete uniform including name tag. Must follow all policies and procedures in accordance with the Employee Handbook. Requirements Essential High School Diploma or GED required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, as well as a background check. Possess a current, valid Arizona Driver’s License. Reliable transportation is required. Essential Leadership: Ability to guide, motivate, and develop teams toward common goals. Certificates: Facilitate comprehensive training and education for staff and self, ensuring compliance with all required certifications, including Food Handlers, Liquor License, CPR (recommended), Arcwood Training (six certificates), and maintaining a valid Driver's License. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public. Desirable Multilingual Work is generally performed in a public setting with a moderate noise level as well as a retail setting with higher noise levels. Prolonged standing and walking may be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common. Working weekends and holidays are a possibility due to the needs of the facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
