Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Nicol of Skene, a well-established civil engineering, multi-utility and directional drilling construction company based in Inverness and Aberdeen is seeking experienced General Site Operatives.
The General Site Operative will support the delivery of civil engineering and multi-utility projects by carrying out a variety of manual tasks on site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard in line with company standards and client expectations. This role requires a hands-on, adaptable, and safety-conscious individual who can work effectively as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the preparation, set-up, and clearance of worksites.
  • Carry out general labouring duties including digging, backfilling, laying ducts, and installing utility infrastructure.
  • Operate hand tools, small plant, and machinery as required (subject to training/competency).
  • Maintain good housekeeping on site and ensure work areas are kept clean and safe.
  • Support plant and materials handling, including loading/unloading deliveries.
  • Follow instructions from the Chargehand/Supervisor/Management and work in line with method statements and risk assessments.
  • Adhere to all company health, safety, environmental, and quality policies.
  • Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses promptly
  • Complete timesheet and any other paperwork as instructed by Chargehand/Supervisor/Management
