Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
The following schedule is available: Graveyard: 9:30pm to 5:30am (Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Facilities Manager, the General Supervisor, Maintenance is responsible for supervising teams of multi-discipline trades workers, determining staffing requirements and overseeing maintenance and facilities assignments within the Shipyard Facilities. As well as temporary electrical services to support production. The Trade Supervisor will ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely and in compliance with all regulations and company standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Allocates manpower in accordance with schedule and priorities, assigning work to trade employees with the skill and ability to efficiently complete scheduled work.
  • Collaborates across three shifts to effectively perform preventative maintenance.
  • Perform Lockout procedure in accordance with company policy.
  • Utilize Computerized maintenance management systems to track and close work performed.
  • Follows and enforces the collective agreement and best practices to manage trades employees effectively.
  • Responsible for discipline, including performance and attendance management, termination of employment, as well as assigning or removing chargehand responsibilities to trades employees.
  • Responsible for interpreting work order specifications and manufacturing information by ensuring work orders are completed, keeping updated on standards, changes in plans and provision of materials.
  • Assists in determining work plans, sequences and schedules and may be required to assist in preparing estimates.
