MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a two-year diploma program is required; an undergraduate degree is an asset; equivalent combinations of experience and education will be considered.
  • 2+ years of office-related experience is required, with 1+ year in a post-secondary environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize large volumes of work in the face of strict deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Google Suite.
  • Strong commitment to service excellence, equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenization.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team to meet targets and goals.
  • Strong customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, tact, initiative, and a positive outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with undergraduate students and students whose first language is not English.
  • Proficiency in French or another language other than English.
  • Familiarity with Campus Solutions/PeopleSoft, Slate, or other Student Information Systems.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the successful admission of undergraduate students to the University of Alberta.
  • Identifies, requests, and confirms receipt of appropriate admission documentation required from applicants to support their Application for Admission or Readmission.
  • Evaluates several international curricula for admissibility, including International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), and General Certificate of Education (GCE) A-levels.
  • Updates education taken at post-secondary institutions for and assesses for approved credit and edits faculty-posted transfer credit narratives, ensuring that transcript standards are maintained.
  • Responds to students’ inquiries about admissions that are referred from.
