Description Job Summary We’re looking for a technically minded, customer-focused sales professional to help homeowners select and purchase the right home standby generator solution. This role blends consultative selling with practical electrical and mechanical understanding. You will guide customers from initial inquiry through site assessment and proposal. Success in this role requires credibility in the home, comfort discussing electrical infrastructure, and the ability to clearly translate complex systems into simple homeowner decisions. Responsibilities Responds to inbound leads and proactively generates new opportunities through referrals, canvassing, and local marketing efforts. Conduct in-home consultations to assess electrical load, home layout, and customer needs. Maintain a strong understanding of generator models, features, warranties, and accessories. Stay current on local requirements, utility considerations, and code concepts. Recommend appropriate generator systems, transfer switches, and service plans. Discuss backup strategies, including whole-home vs essential-load coverage. Present proposals, pricing, financing options, and timelines to homeowners. Close sales and consistently meet or exceed individual sales goals. Stay informed on generator models, features, local codes, and utility requirements. Requirements At least 2 years of experience selling generators, solar, HVAC, roofing, electrical services, or other residential home-improvement solutions. Familiarity with local and National Electrical Code (NEC) related concepts. Comfort with technical concepts - electrical panels, breakers, load calculations, transfer switches, fuel sources (NG/LP), and basic site constraints. Experience working with permitting/inspection processes and coordinating with system designers and in-field technicians. Strong knowledge of generator parts, components, and services. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Responsibilities
The representative will respond to inbound leads and generate new opportunities while conducting in-home consultations to assess customer needs for home standby generators. This includes recommending appropriate systems, presenting proposals, and closing sales to meet individual goals.
