Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen within NHS Lanarkshire to join the Occupational Therapy team at University Hospital Hairmyres.
The team are looking for 2 x Band 4 Generic Assistant Practitioners. One post will be based in the West of Scotland Regional Vascular Service & one post within the Specialist Stroke Service.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work under the supervision of registered therapy staff. To assist patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
  • Implement and adapt treatment programmes within hospital and community settings for individuals / groups of patients.
  • Undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the identified service.
  • Use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes.

Appropriate training and support will be provided to develop staff joining the Occupational Therapy team.
Duties may vary depending on the care group / department or assigned area of work.
