We are looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists based within Perth Royal Infirmary.
You will provide a supportive role to your Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues working within Tay Ward/Inpatient areas at PRI. You will provide rehabilitation to the clinical caseload in a supportive role with the occupational therapist/physiotherapists. You will also undertake administrative and housekeeping duties including cleaning equipment and treatment areas. The post is based with ward teams, although this may change depending on service requirements.
Your role will include assisting with the day to day running of Inpatients wards undertaking some administrative and housekeeping duties including; infection control, monitoring and ordering of stock, collating and reporting patient statistics as well as working with patients providing them with assessment and rehabilitation. This role will require you to be a good communicator to both patients and staff both in person and on the telephone.
You must have an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy and have experience of working in a health or social care setting.
Education to SVQ level IV or equivalent would be advantageous and as a support worker, you will be required to achieve the mandatory induction standards for Health Care Support Workers in NHS Scotland.
