About Our Paediatric Oncology Services at Monash Health The Children’s Cancer Centre, is located within Monash Children’s Hospital, and aims to provide exemplary care for our paediatric oncology cohort. The clinical trials team within the centre focuses on providing these patients with a broad range of treatment options through a variety of domestic and international clinical trials and research projects. The Children’s Cancer Centre is involved in a diverse range of research, including; randomised controlled trials, patient registries, biological studies and an established biobank. About The Role The Genetic Counsellor will work closely with the Clinical Research Associates and Nurses, Lead Clinical Trial Coordinator, and ward staff, to ensure the provision of state of the art medicine through the Precision Medicine for Every Child with Cancer program (Zero2). The GC will play an integral role in ensuring participants and their families are appropriately educated about this program, provide properly informed consent, counselled about any research findings, suitably followed up, and educate the wider department about not only any genetic findings, but also wider implications of results. This is a 0.5EFT, fixed term position. About You You are a passionate, professional interested in bettering the experiences and outcomes for our young patients. You understand the importance of ethical, rigorous research and abiding by Australia’s research standards. You are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.
