Genetics Counselor Job Responsibilities: Attends routine Cancer Center meetings and serves as a clinical resource to the healthcare team. Performs inherited disease risk assessments and cancer risk assessments through review of family and medical histories. Provides individualized genetic counseling and testing to patients/families identified at increased risk for inherited cancers. Facilitates patient awareness and access to research and clinical studies. Demonstrates effective communication skills with all members of the healthcare team. Coordinates counseling sessions to meet the needs of patients, families and members of the healthcare team. Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: Education: Master's degree in genetic counseling. Years of Experience: Experience in genetic counseling with experience in inherited disease genetics or cancer genetic counseling or have recently completed an inherited disease or cancer genetics clinical rotation.
