POSITION SUMMARY:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Genetic Counselor.
The Genetic Counselor of the Division of Neurogenetics, Department of Neurology, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, will work as part of a combined clinical and research team advancing care for people living with neurogenetic and lysosomal disorders. The position will be responsible for management of lysosomal disorder registry studies, in which we are actively recruiting and retaining study participants, as well as manage phenotype and genotype data. The position will also have clinical responsibilities related to patients seen within the Division of Neurogenetics and Lysosomal Storage Disorders Program.
The position will interface directly with patients and the Principal Investigator in support of the clinical research studies; undertake patient recruitment, enrollment, and study coordination; liaise with collaborators, regulatory bodies, and funding agencies; and, ensure the faithful execution of research protocols in accordance with regulatory and ethical guidelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify you must have a Masters Degree in genetic counseling from an accredited program. Board certification or eligibility for board certification as a genetic counselor by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC). Ability to interface effectively with patients and their families, and communicate effectively with collaborators. Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Solid understanding of patient-oriented research. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with open-source databases for variant interpretation. Effective oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $116,904.64 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
