Role Overview PIC North America, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Genetic Improvement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will lead training, monitor progress, and execute the technical implementation of PIC’s genetic program across Elite Farms. You’ll work in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment and collaborate across multiple teams while also being able to work independently. We’re looking for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. High communication skills, data analysis expertise, and livestock project management experience are essential for success in this role. The preferred remote location for the position is in the Midwest region, United States with travel approximately 40-50% domestic and international. The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 USD. The salary provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Genus considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. You Will Support the execution of the genetic improvement strategy and train staff and technical site leads for successful implementation across multiple domestic and international sites Support the genetic improvement strategy communication across the elite farm system to encourage understanding and alignment to objectives and goals Executing genetic improvement protocols for routine and special projects Provide Supply Chain with monthly reports for internal and external use Assist the planning and execution of genetic dissemination of elite animals across the global elite farms Provide remote support for data acquisition, including troubleshooting software and hardware Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyses information and standard practices to make judgments Interpreting and analyzing data using statistical techniques Travel approximately 40-50%, domestic and international Requirements Basic Qualifications: (required) Bachelor’s degree in Animal or Meat Science, Animal Breeding and Genetics, or a related field 3 - 5 years of proven experience in data analysis, livestock project management Understanding of livestock production systems, including genetic production, and training experience to support accurate data interpretation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Working knowledge of contemporary record-keeping systems Minimum 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications Must not cohabitate or live on the same premises with anyone who works with swine or is in routine contact with swine Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Animal or Meat Science, Animal Breeding and Genetics, or related field.
