JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our Team Genie. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial accounting practices, with proficiency in various accounting software. This role involves managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to our clients in making business decisions when required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role within the financial services sector for 5+ Years.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping & accounting software Xero is required, Quickbooks, FreeAgent & Sage is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to mentor and guide other staff members effectively.
  • AAT or similar qualified.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Working papers for Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies as part of the accounting processes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Produce Personal / Partnership / Corporation Self Assessment Tax Returns.
  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero (Mainly) QuickBooks, FreeAgent & Sage for adhoc Bookkeeping / VAT / Payroll tasks.
  • Utilise Xero Tax & TaxCalc for production of accounts and tax returns.
  • Preparing End of Year adjustment journals where required.
  • Replying to client queries knowledgably.
  • Mentor staff members, fostering a collaborative environment for professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
