ROLE: GENERAL MANAGER

Salary: £45,000 + (D.O.E)
Location: Chilton Foliat, Wiltshire
Working Hours: 45 Hours Per Week (minimum)
As The Wheatsheaf prepares to reopen its doors following an extensive refurbishment, we’re entering an exciting new chapter. With a revitalised space and a renewed commitment to excellence, we are building a brand-new team that reflects the high standards and vision of the pub.
We are looking for a charismatic, hands-on General Manager to lead the relaunch and drive the long-term success of The Wheatsheaf. This is a high-profile role for someone who thrives on being at the heart of the action—leading from the front, inspiring their team, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring smooth service and high standards across the board.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the team, setting the tone with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Work closely with the Chef Director to grow food sales through events, promotions and upselling.
  • Drive commercial performance, including achieving a net GP of 70%+ and maintaining staff costs at or below 35%.
  • Champion health and safety, compliance and licensing requirements.
  • Play a key role in helping the business achieve industry recognition and accolades in 2026 and beyond
