About the Role: We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Genset Department Leading Hand to join our Service team based in Port Moresby. The primary focus of this role to lead a team of people to ensure provision of a high standard of quality workmanship and efficiency. Experience with the Caterpillar Power Generations & Non-Captive Engine products and good technical knowledge is required. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to safe working practices and adherence to company policies and procedures is essential. Reporting to the Power Genset Supervisor, your competence and experience will include: Ensure safety goals are achieved through personal commitment, no harm to self or others and participation in safety initiatives. Consistently deliver services that exceed customer expectations with zero complaints by focusing on doing the job right the first time, on time, and at a fair cost Actively supporting safety efforts, including participation in safety meetings and initiatives, with a goal of zero lost-time injuries Complete all assigned tasks in line with quality standards and job schedules Provide detailed and timely work completion reports Comply with all legal and corporate policies regarding quality assurance and operational processes Support Supervisor in root cause analysis and corrective action planning: - work daily with QA Supervisor, Service Supervisor, or Service Manager to ensure - Alignment with customer timelines and quality assurance compliance - Resolution of outstanding QA issues, breakdowns, and non-conformances - Monitoring service operations for both efficiency and quality outcomes - Perform any other reasonable duties as directed * About You: You will bring the following skills and experience to the role: Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter. Minimum three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent. Prior exposure to repair, rebuild and replace engines and drive lines in large earth moving equipment. Proven Skills to diagnose and repair basic electrical circuits and electronic controlling systems.
