Job Description GREAT JOB, GREAT COMPANY AECOM is offering an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning Soil, Groundwater and Remediation Team in our Cork office in Ireland. We’re looking for a Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our growing Water team in Cork whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. You’ll work in a collaborative, high-performing environment that prioritises wellbeing, flexibility, and professional growth. Our team supports a broad range of sectors — including industrial, energy, pharmaceutical, land development, ports, road, and rail — delivering services such as: Desk studies Site investigation Risk assessment Remediation strategy, design, implementation, and validation Environmental monitoring and close-out We also support a pipeline of exciting large infrastructure projects alongside our longstanding projects. This role provides an excellent platform to develop technical and commercial skills, take ownership of projects, and contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes. This role will be based from our Cork office, while also benefiting from our flexible hybrid working model. Here’s what you will do: Deliver Phase 1 environmental assessments, ground investigations, and routine monitoring tasks; Work independently to ensure technical quality, budget control, and programme adherence; Support the preparation of fee proposals for internal and external clients; Manage projects from desk study and feasibility, through to delivery of site investigations and data interpretation, to remediation design and implementation. Build a better world. Qualifications Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for: Education Aa a minimum, an undergraduate degree in an environmental, science, or engineering-based subject; Technical Knowledge and Skills A good understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance Working knowledge of regulations and site management Development of conceptual site models Qualitative risk assessment Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents Field Experience. Hands-on experience with site investigation, including: Site management Drilling supervision Collection of groundwater and, preferably, ground gas samples Supervision of remediation activities Other Requirements Full EU or UK driving licence Willing to travel within Ireland and occasionally work away from home for periods of time SafePass card holder (preferred) First Aid training (preferred) Additional Information Interested in the role or curious about life at AECOM?
