Overview ABOUT THE POSITION Geoenvironmental Engineer or Geologist - Site Investigation & Remediation | Hybrid New England | Montpelier, VT | South Portland, ME | Boston, MA | Watertown, MA| Wethersfield, CT VHB is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer or Geologist/Hydrologist for our growing National Site Investigation & Remediation practice. Responsibilities Collaborate on strategies to assess the release or potential release of petroleum and hazardous substances on historically developed property and associated risks to human health and the environment Develop conceptual site models that convey the current understanding of environmental conditions at a site and the implications of those conditions (e.g., the potential for contaminant exposure and migration) Evaluate the regulatory implications of environmental conditions related to the release of petroleum and hazardous substances and contribute to the identification of applicable short-term and long-term response actions Support proposal development by preparing clear and concise descriptions proposed scopes of work and associated budgets Manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs Collaborate with data management and visualization staff to develop informative figures, tables, and dashboards that help to convey conceptual site models Provide hands-on support during field exploration and testing Participate in environmental due diligence activities Write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda Skills and Knowledge Working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in geoenvironmental consulting Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory processes Knowledge of industry-standard software (e.g., EQuIS, GIS Systems and AutoCAD) Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Effectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clients Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers Recognize and manage business risk Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented Qualifications 3+ years of relevant experience (e.g., consulting geoprofessional engineer/geologist, regulatory specialist) BS in environmental/civil/chemical engineering, or related field (geology/hydrogeology/environmental science), MS degree in engineering/geology/hydrogeology preferred Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Geology (FG) registration or Professional Engineer (PE)/Geologist (PG) licensure preferred OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Vermont and Massachusetts is $65,000 - 95,000. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
