Geography is a popular and well-established subject at St Andrews and we are looking for an inspiring teacher to join the team, with the Head of Humanities Faculty responsibility available for the right candidate. Class sizes are small and the students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach to the subject through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques. Inspiring Learning and Development: As a Geography teacher at St Andrews, you will nurture the academic and personal growth of your class, adapting teaching methods to meet the individual needs, abilities, and interests of each student. Staying informed on current educational practices, you’ll bring fresh approaches to our curriculum and provide regular, meaningful feedback to parents. Collaborative planning is central to our approach, and you’ll work closely with colleagues and Heads of Subject to design cohesive learning experiences for students. Geography is taught to all students throughout the High School, with Key Stage 3 schemes of work broadly based on the National Curriculum, adapted to reflect both our location in South East Asia and the international nature of our students, and leading to IGCSEs in Years 10 and 11 and International Baccalaureate courses of Geography and Global Politics. The Humanities Faculty comprises the following subjects; Business, Economics, Geography, History, Global Politics, Psychology and Sociology. The Head of Faculty would be responsible for providing professional leadership and management to secure high quality teaching, support, guide and motivate Heads of Department and Subject Coordinates within the faculty. Strong evidence of the ability to use data analysis to support the department in tracking student progress, would be a significant advantage. We welcome applications from teachers new to the profession for whom we offer DfE, ECF-based training for Early career teachers (ECTs), as well as experienced teachers. Previous experience teaching either IB or A Level Geography or Social Sciences would be advantageous.
