Pro Rata Range: £18,000 – £22,000 (Full-Time Equivalent)

Job Purpose
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Part-Time Geography Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Geography, delivering engaging lessons that help students develop a strong understanding of the physical and human world, global issues, and environmental responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that meet the needs of all learners
• Teach across KS3 and KS4, including preparation for GCSE Geography
• Encourage critical thinking, map skills, and a deep appreciation for global diversity and sustainability
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and schemes of work
• Maintain current knowledge of the national curriculum and exam specifications
• Set high expectations for student behaviour and academic achievement
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive team culture
• Support or lead extracurricular activities such as field trips or geography clubs (optional)
• Participate in relevant CPD and school training sessions

Person Specification

Essential:

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
• A degree in Geography or a closely related subject
• Experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4 level
• Strong subject knowledge and a commitment to inspiring young minds
• Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
• High expectations for student progress and behaviour
• A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices
• A willingness to support the school’s ethos and Islamic values

Desirable:

• Experience in a faith-based or independent school setting
• Familiarity with Islamic values and the school’s ethos
• A proven track record of raising attainment in Geography, especially at GCSE
