JOB SUMMARY:

Mersino Water Solutions is seeking a Geologist to join our Miami branch to support dewatering operations across a variety of project sites. The Geologist will play a critical role in analyzing subsurface conditions, developing dewatering strategies, and working closely with project managers and field teams to ensure successful groundwater control in support of construction and environmental projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in geology, preferably construction, environmental, or dewatering industry
  • Familiarity with Florida geology and hydrology is required
  • Experience reading and interpreting geological reports, boring logs and well installation records
  • Strong understanding of groundwater behavior and soil-water interactions
  • Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects
  • Ability to multi-task in a changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities
  • Conduct geological site assessments to evaluate soil, sediment, and groundwater conditions.
  • Analyze borings, well logs, and geotechnical data to design effective dewatering and groundwater management systems.
  • Support the development and execution of dewatering plans, including wellpoint systems, deep wells, and other methods.
  • Assist with permitting and compliance by preparing geological reports and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to implement field solutions and monitor system performance.
  • Perform site visits to monitor conditions, verify installations, and adjust designs based on real-time data.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulators as needed to ensure project alignment and environmental compliance.
  • Stay up to date with state/local geological and environmental regulations relevant to dewatering and water management.
  • Maintain detailed records of site data, project conditions, and any geological findings.
  • Assist with gathering technical data on projects and preparing reports to summarize project details
  • Ensure that the Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities
