Macquarie Geotechnical is a Geotechnical Consulting / Drilling & Construction Materials Testing company working on road, rail and mining infrastructure projects throughout Australia. We maintain a fleet of modern drill rigs, support equipment and tools that are at the forefront of the industry.
We are currently seeking Geologists to join our team.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THE POSITION YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary qualification
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Numerical, analytical and observation skills.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • An interest in developing both technical and project management skills
  • A current NSW drivers licence.
    This is a full-time position based in Bathurst, NSW with salary starting from $76,515 per year.
    Remuneration package is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Report on quarry reserves and resources, identifying and addressing risks or gaps.
  • Monitor and report on exposed reserves and rock availability at each operating quarry.
  • Ensure appropriate level of geological assessments have been completed at all quarries to understand rock quantity and quality.
  • Ensure mine plans are developed for each operating site, monitoring alignment of quarrying activities to optimise operations.
  • Conducting inspections of quarry excavations and tips as per the Quarry Inspection Scheme.
  • Conducting inspections on closed units and non-quarry sites and undertaking or commissioning discontinuity surveys and collection of other types of technical field data.
  • Perform site-specific geological assessments to quantify and qualify our rock in-ground.
  • Provide geological, hydrogeological and quarry design advice for the assessment of new prospects, scoping/development of planning applications and development of existing sites.
  • Analyse and report on geological assessments, addressing quantity/quality changes in reserves.
  • Drive key activities and decisions based on assessments to optimise quarry rock life.
