Job Title: Geology Superintendent
The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Geology Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role is responsible for supervising in-pit production activities, including mapping, data analysis, and reporting, while ensuring accuracy. The Geology Superintendent will also assist with designing and managing the in-pit RC grade control drilling program, ensuring precise and efficient geological control of mining operations. This support optimizes recovery, minimizes dilution, and aligns with the long-term strategic mine plan. The Superintendent will lead and mentor a team of geologists and geological technicians, fostering continuous improvement in geological practices and data management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET

• 10+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in an open pit gold mining environment.
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or senior geology role, ideally within a large-scale mining operation.
• Experience in both open-pit and underground mining is considered an asset.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related discipline.Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field is an asset.
