We have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Geology Technician, based at our Discovery Operations. This opportunity is offered as residential in the Goldfields working a 5/2 (10-hour), 4/3 (10-hour) & 8/6(12-hour) roster. The successful candidate will assist in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for subsequent analysis by Geologists.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence

Preferred

  • Current approved and recognised forklift ticket
  • Computer literacy with the ability to use Microsoft office products
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to plan daily activities and meet deadlines
  • St Johns Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Mechanical knowledge and skills (desirable)
Responsibilities
  • Metre marking, photographing, cutting and sample collection of diamond core is completed in a timely manner and is in line with core processing priorities.
  • Appropriate QAQC samples are included in all submissions.
  • Sample submissions are completed in a timely manner with no errors.
  • Transport of samples to the offsite laboratory (if necessary).
  • Storage and accurate Cataloguing of diamond core in the core farm is completed thoroughly and in line with procedure.
  • Assist in maintaining pulp and core library catalogues across site.
  • RC Sampling.
  • Drill pad preparation and rehabilitation.
