YOUR QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • A diploma in Engineering Technology (Geomatics/Surveying preferred). Other relevant combinations of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the Association of Newfoundland Land Surveyors would be considered an asset.
  • A certificate in Geographic Information Systems would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in preparing, interpreting, and/or managing easement documentation.
  • Experience in conducting land title or deed searches.
  • Familiarity with electrical distribution systems and associated infrastructure would be considered an asset.
  • You have strong analytical and project management skills and can execute technical tasks with particular attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD is required. Familiarity in administering and maintaining ESRI software, such as ArcGIS, Survey123, and Field maps would be considered an asset.
  • You are a highly motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety and customer service, an excellent work ethic, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • You must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.

Responsibilities
  • Finding solutions to complex property issues related to the installation and replacement of electrical distribution lines.
  • Preparing and procuring easement documents related to the installation and replacement of distribution infrastructure.
  • Managing the work associated with Survey contractors to ensure the timely delivery of field work and easement documentation.
  • Performing searches at the Registry of Deeds, the Registry of Crown Lands and the Supreme Court Registry to determine property ownership and the extent of property rights.
  • Interacting and negotiating with customers regarding property rights for both existing and future infrastructure.
  • Adhering to all property regulations and acquiring approvals and permits from the various department and agencies of the three levels of Government.
  • Research, design, and implement solutions that promote company-wide modernization and improvements.
  • Assist in the development/enhancement of technologies and applications through ESRI software such as ArcGIS, Survey123, Field Maps, and Dashboards to support field and office operations.
  • Integrate survey, easement and other CAD data into GIS applications
