POSITION OVERVIEW
The Geoscientist I position is responsible for project and field crew management and is knowledgeable in all aspects of data collection, analysis, and interpretation of scientific information and environmental regulations. A Geoscientist I will oversee both simple and complex projects from inception to completion and will prepare environmental documents including technical reports, sections of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents, and environmental permits and is responsible for agency coordination. This is a leadership role including business development, marketing, project management, and mentoring duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The project areas may be located at high elevations in rugged terrain. Applicants must be physically capable and possess the skills necessary to perform all aspects of fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling; borehole logging as part of various types of environmental drilling; performing in-field data analysis, and conducting site inspections while taking site photographs. A Geoscientist I must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds. Work may also include periods of sedentary work including sitting / standing and use of a computer.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A Geoscientist I is expected to have the knowledge and experience to effectively carry out their responsibilities with limited reliance on a Senior Geoscientist, Principal, or other Project Managers. A Geoscientist I is expected to interact with clients; attend in-person meetings, marketing events, and conferences; and prepare scopes of work and proposal documents, as needed. Overnight travel may be required. The position requires a “consultant” approach and mentality to meet project schedule requirements and demands. The position may require greater than 40 hours per week during the year and may require weekend work based on project schedule.
