We are seeking an intermediate Geoscientist to join our In Situ Geoscience team. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in geology and experience with In Situ development. The candidates will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive exploration, appraisal, and resource development and monitoring strategies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field
  • Professional membership with APEGA (P. Geo) or eligibility for registration
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in geoscience, with preference for candidates with In Situ expertise
  • Strong knowledge of land and engineering disciplines
  • Capable of integrating land and engineering with geoscience for comprehensive decisions and recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize work based on impact
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing collaboration and integration

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support In Situ development and asset projects through geologic interpretation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geoscience data with geophysical, petrophysical, and engineering datasets for appraisal, delineation, pad planning, horizontal well execution
  • Conduct geologic interpretation of well and seismic data to support geomodel development
  • Perform resource evaluation and analogue studies to identify and assess future growth opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Influence team business planning by integrating geoscience insights with broader business and technical information

Location & other key details

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our engineering roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
