Description
SAIC is currently hiring a GIS Analyst in California, MD. Work will be onsite 5 days a week at the SAIC Abell House location.. Job Duties: The candidate will conduct a thorough inventory and assessment of Navy environmental data assets and modify and/or convert all assets to Navy-compliant geospatial data layers. Inventoried data will include, but is not limited to, Environmental, Cultural Resources, Natural Resources, and Bird and Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard data. The candidate will work in a team environment, must have strong oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate initiative and attention to detail when completing project tasks. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years or more experience; High School diploma and four(4) years or more experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Experience working directly with ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro). Experience converting multiple data types (non-geospatial, CAD, etc.) into a geospatial, standardized format. Desired Skills: Experience with Navy data standards including the Spatial Data Standard for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment data model (SDSFIE). Experience working directly with, and/or a basic knowledge of, Environmental, Cultural Resources, Natural Resources, and Bird and Wildlife Aircraft Strike Hazard GIS data Using Power BI applications and tools to track project progress. Experience performing data validation checks using RBJ files or Python. Required Security Clearance: No security clearance is required but must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
