Help shape the future of satellite solutions while working with us to build our new Darwin office.
We are seeking experienced and driven developers to play a key role in the ongoing support and development of our innovative modular tool suite, for the next generation of earth observation satellite operations.
We offer an opportunity for you to demonstrate your insight, domain knowledge, technical expertise and collaboration skills by working with our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists and developers. Engaging with your team to solve issues up and down the satellite imagery infrastructure chain, addressing issues across the gamut of discovery, distribution, analysis, visualisation, commercialisation and management administration.
This role will give you exposure to the diverse range of uses for spatial data as you work with and support customers and stakeholders in establishing their deployments and support the integration of these tools into their workflows and applications. Highlighting the challenges associated with data acquisition and management both through development, and support of these deployments.

JOB TITLE: Geospatial integrations engineer
JOB TYPE: Full Time.
LOCATION: Darwin Office. Role may involve secondment on-site with clients.
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Work in partnership with clients and stakeholders to ensure their deployments work as expected and provide value,
  • Work closely with partners and clients to integrate platform tools into their environments and workflows,
  • Work with team to maintain and consistently extend and update API design and implementations, visual web interfaces and ensure their accuracy and ease of use by customers,
  • Assist in the design, planning and implementation of new platform and system features by providing feedback and perspective on behalf of clients,
  • Field customer enquiries about the platform and any issues customers experience interacting with it, in order to plan remediation,
  • Collaborate in review and remediation of features in the platform to improve user experience and clarity where issues are found.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No specific qualifications are required for this position if the applicant has appropriate experience (a portfolio of prior works is preferred),
  • Qualifications in software, physics, mathematics, or other relevant fields may be an advantage for some applicants.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years experience developing and maintaining non trivial geospatial applications,
  • Experience providing technical and professional services both remotely and in person.

SKILLS:

Required:

  • Should be familiar with geospatial programming with tools like gdal and web APIs in a language of choice.

Preferred:

  • Should be familiar with the Go programming language,
  • Knowledge of server side rendering techniques for content servicing,
  • Familiarity with the WCAGG accessibility guidelines and their impact.
