Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division is looking for an Entry Level or Associate Geospatial Mission Operator (Level 1 or 2) to support our dynamic 24/7 team in Springfield and Chantilly, Virginia.
The Space and Launch Team supports the Government and its customers by monitoring production systems and ensuring customers are receiving the most accurate, relevant products they need to accomplish their missions. Our team focuses on the operation of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers.
The Geospatial Mission Operator will be a part of a high-performing team that is immersed in a high intensity operations environment. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to support the Government and its customers by supporting 24x7 operations and coordinating with analysts & engineers from other disciplines. This position will focus on monitoring production systems for the customer and ensuring timely access to data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience interfacing directly with a customer
  • Experience working on technical projects
  • Willing and able to work variable/rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing and able to work in a 24x7 operations and support process environment
  • Ability to complete an intensive certification program. Will be provided specialized training (combination self-study, in-class training, and on-the-job (OTJ) training) in order to complete the necessary certifications required for this position

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with image processing systems and architecture
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and command line interfaces
  • Familiar with scripting languages and modeling tools used in data analysis and simulation
Responsibilities
  • Provide systems engineering and integration support to an operational government customer within the Intelligence Community.
  • Monitor operational processing operations systems and data flow for nominal status.
  • Analyze technical data, verify and sustain specific system configurations in accordance with defined constraints and operational requirements.
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Implement test methodologies for production systems and their associated products.
  • Coordinate with analysts and engineers from other subject areas or teams.
  • Recommend innovative methods to accomplish processing missions.
  • Coordinate with management and peers to ensure the integrity and continuity of high-quality operational products, including procedures and tools.
  • Work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Create/maintain documentation and procedures associated with the system.
