ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Typically, 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English, or a Level 2 apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (final decision rests with the employer).
  • A genuine interest in geography, technology, and problem-solving
  • Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence

ABOUT THE ROLE

Castle Surveys Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Level 3 Geospatial Technician Apprentice. This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in the geospatial sector, working alongside experienced professionals and gaining hands-on experience with the latest surveying technology.
Your role will be based out of our headquarters in Ashby de la Zouch, and you will require a full UK driving licence to support travel to various project sites as needed.
As a Geospatial Technician Apprentice, you will work on a wide variety of projects, collecting and analysing geospatial data for purposes such as map creation, satellite navigation, infrastructure development, and more. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects in sectors including construction, utilities, offshore, mining, and government.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Collect, process, and manage geospatial data using advanced surveying equipment and software
  • Assist in the creation of maps, 2D/3D models, and digital plans for a variety of clients
  • Support the delivery of projects related to roads, buildings, bridges, offshore structures, and more
  • Learn to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS), GPS, and other geospatial technologies
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with relevant regulations
  • Attend Dudley College on block release as part of your apprenticeship, developing your technical knowledge and skills
