ACCIONA is a global company, leading in the development of regenerative infrastructure that creates a positive impact on society. Our workforce consists of more than 65,000 professionals, present in more than 40 countries across the five continents, all contributing in our mission to design a better planet. Are you a passionate individual who wants to make a difference, promote sustainable development, and find solutions to the biggest global challenges including climate change, overpopulation, and water scarcity? Come and join us in building the infrastructure our planet needs to achieve a sustainable future. Job Description Join a high‑performing, collaborative team within a growing engineering division. Contribute to landmark, iconic infrastructure projects across Australia. Step into a senior role offering strong career growth, leadership opportunities, and technical impact. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical & Pavements Engineer to play a key leadership role in delivering high‑quality, technically robust engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. In this position, you will bring advanced geotechnical expertise—covering deep and shallow foundations, excavation and retention systems, slope stabilisation, instrumentation and monitoring (I&M), and ground improvement—to produce and review complex design packages. You will also apply strong technical capability in pavement materials, design methodologies, and construction practices to develop cost‑effective pavement solutions for roads and highways. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, lead small project teams, and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. Key Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality geotechnical design packages, including calculations, reports, and technical documentation. Review, verify, and sign‑off design outputs and engineering reports. Conduct pavement design and analysis for road and highway infrastructure, including material selection and adherence to current design standards. Provide guidance, supervision, and mentoring to junior engineers and graduates. Liaise directly with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Line‑manage small teams or direct reports, contributing to both technical and project leadership. Support and oversee site investigation programs, instrumentation installation, and risk assessments. Required Skills and Competencies Experience in geotechnical and pavement engineering, with advanced expertise in geotechnical design principles, methodologies, and Australian pavement standards. Proven capability to lead small teams and manage project packages, supported by excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills. High proficiency in industry software, including PLAXIS and CIRCLY, with strong technical judgement across geotechnical and pavement design. Qualified with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (geotechnical focus) and preferably a Master’s (MSc/MEng), supported by CPEng/PE status and pavement design prequalification ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies. Since establishing a presence in Australia in 2002, ACCIONA has made significant investments in local opportunities and project development. ACCIONA employs more than 3,000 people in its renewable energy, infrastructure and water projects across Australia & New Zealand. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and promote equality and diversity. Indigenous Australians and candidates from minority groups are encouraged to apply.
