The Opportunity
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role where your expertise in geotechnical engineering will shape the foundation of groundbreaking projects? We’re seeking a dynamic Geotechnical Engineer to supporting the drive forward our initiatives in the realm of infrastructure and construction.
Reporting to the Geotechnical Lead, the Engineering Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible to provide assistance to the Geotechnical Lead on the day-to-day detail design requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act Serve as the crucial liaison between the CJV construction team and ACCIONA Engineering and Design Geotechnical/ground engineering teams, facilitating seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct thorough analysis (review) of site investigations (Geotechnical Factual and Interpretative Reports), Geotechnical Interpretative Reports (GIR), scoping documents, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Geotechnical Site Investigations (GSI) to identify and address any gaps or discrepancies.
  • Able to work with Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Review and analyse tender documents to ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Perform comprehensive engineering analyses for bridge foundations, abutments, and other critical structures, leveraging expertise to optimize design and construction processes.
  • Provide expertise and assistance in earthworks, material re-use analysis, spoil management, coordinating closely with environmental teams to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient with soil and rock classification, geological/geotechnical understanding and interpretation of ground conditions.
  • Experience in drilling, logging, geotechnical sampling and geotechnical laboratory testing interpretation.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
