JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented and experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is an asset).
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of geotechnical consulting experience, including investigations and slope stability assessments. Experience in Alberta or British Columbia is preferred.
- Professional Designation: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA or eligible for registration within one year.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Slope/W, GINT software, and retaining wall design is an asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong technical writing, communication, and client relationship management skills.
- Personal Attributes: Initiative, collaborative mindset, and the ability to develop and expand client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and manage geotechnical investigations, including coordinating and supervising drilling activities.
- Conduct borehole logging, soil sampling, and prepare detailed geotechnical reports for projects such as commercial developments, industrial sites, and telecommunication towers.
- Perform slope stability assessments using Slope/W and provide actionable recommendations.
- Develop retaining wall and mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall designs that meet engineering standards and project specifications.
- Create accurate borehole logs using GINT software.
- Conduct on-site inspections, assess geotechnical conditions, and deliver tailored solutions to clients.
- Prepare competitive and comprehensive project proposals in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Mentor and support junior staff through knowledge sharing and hands-on training.
