QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Degree qualified in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline (essential).
Chartered Engineer status (ICE, IStructE, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 12 years’ professional experience in geotechnical engineering, ideally including both consultancy and contractor-side experience.
Strong technical understanding of soil mechanics, ground risk assessment, and geotechnical design.
Excellent report review and analytical skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical advice.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, designers, and site teams.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our Engineering team, based in either Leeds or Belfast. This role will be focused on reviewing geotechnical information and reports to support tendering, project planning, and design development. The successful candidate will provide expert advice to project and bid teams, ensuring technical risks and opportunities are fully understood and managed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and interpret geotechnical reports, ground investigation data, and related documentation for tendering and live projects.
Provide geotechnical expertise to support tender submissions, project planning, and risk assessments.
Advise project teams on ground-related risks, construction methodologies, and mitigation measures.
Liaise with consultants, clients, and site teams to clarify ground conditions and ensure information is accurate and fit for purpose.
Support design and temporary works teams with geotechnical input as required.
Contribute to technical assurance, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across the business.
