Description

Location: Kerry/Limerick Experience: 2-5 Years
MWP require a Geotechnical Engineer to help support our senior engineers in the design, supervision, and delivery of a broad range of projects, across a wide variety of sectors, including, commercial and public sector, energy, and other civil works. The position would suit motivated, practical, and adaptable individuals who have ambition to work in a progressive and innovative engineering and environmental consultancy.

REQUIREMENTS

  • QQI Level 8 or 9 Qualification in an accredited Engineering programme.
  • Good technical ability in all aspects of your field of engineering.
  • Good knowledge and experience of current EN Standards.
  • AutoCAD and drafting software experience.
  • Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Full Driving Licence in Category B.
  • Knowledge of current government forms of contract documentation would be an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • You will join our Geotechnical sector, which is responsible for a wide range of energy, road, and commercial projects throughout Ireland.
  • The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of project development from conceptual design, site investigation, and detailed design, through to on-site monitoring.
  • Aid senior engineers in the design elements for projects to current regulations and design standards.
  • Help in the production of drawings and reports.
  • Co-ordinate with engineers of other disciplines and the wider MWP group.
  • Attend meetings with clients, other consultants, and contractors during the course of projects.
  • Ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant Health and Safety legislation.
  • Conducting site visits across Ireland and attending meetings across Ireland.
  • Prepare geotechnical investigation plans including field investigations and laboratory testing.
  • Prepare Geotechnical factual reports, interpretive reports, and baseline reports.
  • Prepare design basis memoranda, technical memoranda, and reports, and coordinate report preparation within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Planning and managing CAD documentation, working closely with CAD Technicians
  • Prepare technical specifications and participate in the analysis of bids.
  • Work closely with peers, junior engineers and other discipline engineers to ensure delivery that will meet utility standards, industry standards and meet good engineering practices, policies and procedures.
